Just before the craziness of Christmas began I had the privilege of working with a fabulous team of wedding pros for a photoshoot at Coombe Trenchard Weddings . Designed and styled by Nikki; owner of
Knots & Kisses Wedding Stationery and captured by Liberty Pearl Photo & Film Collective everything was set up beautifully from the scrumptious cakes to the flowers and stationery.
Working with Laura Bukin Hair, we created a vintage autumnal look with deep cherry lips and loose curls finished off with a gorgeous headband of flowers by Joanna Game Viridis flower studio. The model wore dresses designed by the very talented Ailsa Munro,
Coombe Trenchard is a beautiful venue set just outside Tavistock, with its huge fireplaces, wooden panelling and high ceilings, it"s easy to see why Nikki chose it for the shoot.
So this weekend I had the exciting opportunity to speak to lots of brides (& grooms) at Blue Fizz's Boho Bride Festival. Up until Saturday I hadn't really taken part in wedding fairs to be honest but now having been, i'm not sure many could measure up to the experience of this one! Blue Fizz Events are renown for their style genius and attention to detail and they did not disappoint. Everything you could possibly need to create the perfect festival wedding was on offer to try, smell, touch, eat and enjoy. Exeter Castle was packed with flowers, cakes, dresses, stationary along with photographers, venues and of course make up and hair stylists all coming together to promote their services. For anyone looking for anything a bit different this was the place to be! There was a roaming catwalk which gave the make up artists and hair stylists the chance to show off our skills and the models did a great job showcasing some amazing dresses and head pieces throughout the day. We had an absolutely fabulous time and we'll definitely be booking in for another Blue Fizz event in the future. Thank you to Liberty Pearl for the fantastic photos, they sum up the weekend perfectly! x
A while ago I was invited to join a photo shoot at a beautiful venue in South Devon so being an outsidy kinda gal I donned my wellies and headed for the fields! As a Make Up artist I get to meet lots of lovely clients but it's always nice to work with a team to create a style together, and that day I was working not only on the make up but helping the stylist as well so I was very excited. Armed with floral table cloths, a box of teacups and other vintage finds I'd collected along the way, I arrived at Dunwell Farm to be greeted by not only the characteristic chickens pecking around but the smell of scrumptious hog roast, and a thoroughly warm welcome from the owners. These guys had this wedding lark down to a T. Most of the people on the shoot were family and by the end of it I felt thoroughly part of it. They have made the farm into the most amazing wedding venue and cleverly kept the essence of rural life at the heart of it.
Over the years I have had the privilege of working with many beautiful brides and models, women and men who want to look their best. I love hearing their stories and experiences and I've picked up quite a few helpful tips along the way. So here i will en devour to share with you things I have learnt - make up, weddings and general life hacks, it will all be here.
